Hey Kimberly, I will work on making this functionality a bit more clear. The idea is to show that a restaurant still exists, not necessarily that you were just there, but \"confirm existence\" seemed like a dull thing to put on the actual button which is why I made it \"I was just here.\" I will give some thought to how to make this all more clear because I think it will help with the problem of looking for restaurants that no longer exist. Hey Kimberly, If you type the first few letters of a city, you should see a list of matching options for the currently selected country. You should be able to either type to narrow down the selection to one, use the arrow keys to move up and down and select one, or click on one with the mouse to select it. If you are having trouble doing this, please let me know what browser you are using so I can take a look, perhaps it is a bug. If I didn\'t understand correctly, please let me know. Thanks, Dan

I was typing in a city name and was happy to see a drop down menu appear. However, it would not let me select an option. Instead, I kept typing until it narrowed down the location and auto-filled the field. What if I wanted to enter a city/town that was in the pre-defined list?

I tried this and, while it worked, it wasn\'t clear. I clicked the link but there was no confirmation message. Is there supposed to be one? I later noted that the page was updated with \"Existence last confirmed:Today\". It\'s actually been a few weeks, so maybe I shouldn\'t have clicked it. I thought I might have been prompted for a specific date. What happens if you click it by accident? There doesn\'t seem to be a way to undo, other than clicking on \"Closed?\" (which I\'m afraid to try).

There has been a link for this on the "update restaurant info" page for a while, but to make this feature more obvious, there is now a link right next to the "existence last confirmed" field on any restaurant's main page.

I added a new feature today....on every page for a restaurant, if you are logged in you will see a link that says "I was here recently." This is intended to help solve the problem of wondering how long ago a place was added and whether or not it still exists. All you need to do is click on that link if you've been there recently and everyone can easily see that a restaurant is still operating. This has often been a problem for me when using other sites especially when looking for restaurants outside the US. I've often worked hard to find an address in Hong Kong or Cebu City or some other place only to discover the restaurant is long gone.

Hey Meaghan, Thanks for writing. Originally I had this up top but it looked a bit cluttered. What you can do for now, is when searching you can use \"vegan\" in your search. So, things like: vegan in new york, ny vegan near home (if you\'re logged in and have defined a personal location) I will make it so that vegan-friendly works too. Right now I think it probably won\'t. Also, I will be improving the advanced search functionality. All this stuff should definitely be in there. It would be wicked to have a vegan filter under the search bar, to the right of "only vegetarian." I think this filter would be most useful if it did not return "only vegan," but returned places that are vegan friendly as well.

I uploaded what amounts to a point release, a whole number of improvements and changes based on feedback I got from the initial release. There are now all sorts of new links from the navigation bar like a working Help section, Links, a Blog, and others. From now on I plan to be adopting a release often approach rather than sitting on changes for a long time. I also plan to expend a lot more effort on content now that the tools that make the site run are becoming more mature and things are generally looking better. Let me know if you have any comments, more to come soon.

Back from my trip to Hong Kong and the Philippines. I managed to have a few good vegetarian meals and I uploaded a bunch of new pictures and information about those places. I have a to-do list a mile long so the site should continue to grow over the next few weeks and months.
