I went down today to check out the Water St location, which as far as I can tell is the only one that exists so far. They changed it up a bit. The menu is now just quesadillas, tacos, and burritos. I had two grilled vegetable tacos with rice & beans. They no longer have the word "vegan" on the menu anywhere, neither do they have assurances about not using additivies or lard, which doesn't mean they use those things, but they don't say anymore if they do or do not. That being said, they do still have tempeh and tofu sour cream, and the "mega-soy" burrito is still on the menu. Also, they now make your food in front of you Chipotle-style so you can see all the ingredients and tell them what you do or do not want. I'd say it's still pretty vegan-friendly all things considered, though maybe next time I'll suggest they could make their menu a little reassuring. Good to have another vegan-friendly alternative down here in the financial district anyway.

More Than Salad

Burritoville is back!

"In September 2008, Burritoville closed all its Manhattan locations as a result of filing for reorganization under the bankruptcy laws.[1] However, the Westbury location remained open for business. In November of 2008, one of the former owners of Blimpie purchased BurritoVille and directed a complete makeover of the chain. The Financial District location (36 Water Street) that re-opened on July 6, 2009 is just the first of several planned locations in New York City and throughout the country. In NYC, many of the new locations will be at or near the old stores. (Planned locations are 226 West 23rd Street and 36 Seventh Avenue)."

I used to like Burritoville a lot, I'm going to walk down to Water St later and check it out!

More Than Salad

re: Does a place still exist?

I will work on making this functionality a bit more clear. The idea is to show that a restaurant still exists, not necessarily that you were just there, but "confirm existence" seemed like a dull thing to put on the actual button which is why I made it "I was just here." I will give some thought to how to make this all more clear because I think it will help with the problem of looking for restaurants that no longer exist. Thanks for your suggestion, I'll try to whip something new up soon.

If you type the first few letters of a city, you should see a list of matching options for the currently selected country. You should be able to either type to narrow down the selection to one, use the arrow keys to move up and down and select one, or click on one with the mouse to select it.

If you are having trouble doing this, please let me know what browser you are using so I can take a look, perhaps it is a bug. If I didn't understand correctly, please let me know. Thanks,

However, it would not let me select an option. Instead, I kept typing until it narrowed down the location and auto-filled the field. What if I wanted to enter a city/town that was in the pre-defined list?

More Than Salad
