Spring Street Natural
Cuisine: Organic, Eclectic
62 Spring St (At Lafayette St)
New York, NY, 10012 United States
They are an eclectic bistro with a large and not too formal dining room, good for almost any time of the day, with numerous vegetarian and vegan options including dishes with fresh vegetables, tofu, tempeh, and seitan.

I have been going here more often in the last few years and I think my opinion of them has risen dramatically. It's a great choice if you want to go somewhere that has lots of options for everyone including non-vegetarians. The menu is very vegetarian and vegan friendly with items denoted clearly on the menu and the waiters generally knowledgeable about whether or not dishes are vegan or can be made vegan. It's a nice space too where you can feel comfortable dressed casually or slightly more dressed up if you like. They also have a few outdoor tables when the weather is nice, though it is quite a busy intersection.
They have a wide selection of appetizers not all of which I've tried yet but many of which are vegan friendly. In particular I have gotten the organic stir-fry with tempeh here a lot, also available with tofu or seitan. I'm also a recent fan of the corn-crusted tofu. Many of the items on the menu both vegetarian and non-vegetarian are organic and generally healthful. They do have a pretty full selection of alcohol to choose from in case you want a few drinks.
Service can be a bit on the slow side but always friendly. The restaurant is quite large and in general they seem to be a tad understaffed, or just perhaps almost always busy which is good for the food. Once the order is in though, the food usually shows up pretty fast which is the important thing, even if they sometimes forget to come refill the water.
Overall a good place where I go often and will continue to bring friends and know that everyone can eat good food and be satisfied.
