Mamoun's is pretty famous. Being very close to the Bleecker St bar scene, there is often a late-night line out the door of people waiting for super-cheap falafel sandwiches. They have shwarma and other meat dishes here, so it's not particularly vegetarian, though the late night hours, convenient location, fame, cheap prices, and generally good quality food make it worth a mention here. The place itself is tiny, usually people just stand outside drunkenly trying to keep the insides of their sandwich from falling all over themselves. The vegetarian food is good but it's best left for a quick snack, not necessarily a place to go out of your way to visit unless you're having a craving for cheap, tasty, and messy.
